Wedding DJ at The Barn at Alswick
Barn weddings have a certain energy about them. The exposed beams, the fairy lights, the wooden dance floor, the whole thing feels warm and celebratory from the moment guests walk in. At The Barn at Alswick near Buntingford that atmosphere is already there. My job is to build on it and keep it going all the way to the last song of the night.
I'm George. I've been a professional DJ for 25 years and I genuinely love playing at barn venues. The acoustics are different to a hotel ballroom, the crowd tends to be ready to have a good time from the off, and there's a relaxed energy that makes for brilliant evenings when the music is right.
Every wedding I do starts the same way. A proper conversation with the couple about their music, their guests and what kind of night they want to create. Not a form to fill in, an actual chat. I use everything that comes out of that conversation to shape the evening from start to finish.
QSC speakers, Pioneer decks, American DJ lighting with moving heads, uplighting and a mirror ball that looks incredible in a barn setting. All PAT tested, fully insured to £1 million PLI and always dressed smartly.
I'm in Broxbourne and Alswick is a comfortable drive so I'll always be there well ahead of time.

FAQs
Q: Can you bring a Magic Mirror photo booth to The Barn at Alswick?
A: Yes and barns are genuinely one of the best settings for a photo booth. My package includes a full backdrop, props table, red carpet, personalised prints and a guest book. It fits brilliantly into the rustic atmosphere and guests absolutely love it.
Q: Barns can have tricky acoustics. How do you handle that?
A: It's something I factor in at every barn venue. The wooden structure and high ceilings affect how sound travels so I'll position the speakers carefully and test everything properly before your guests arrive to make sure it sounds right throughout the whole space.
Q: We're having an outdoor ceremony before moving into the barn. Can you provide music for both?
A: Yes. I can cover outdoor ceremony music, the drinks reception and the full evening reception. Just tell me your timeline and I'll put together a package that covers everything you need.
Q: How do you keep the energy going if the dance floor empties mid evening?
A: That's one of the most important skills in the job and something I've been doing for 25 years. I read the room constantly and make adjustments on the fly. A well timed track change can turn a quiet moment into a packed floor in about 30 seconds.
