Wedding DJ at The White Hart Hotel St Albans

600 years of history. Original oak beams, open fires, Tudor character on every wall. The White Hart Hotel on Holywell Hill in St Albans is the kind of venue that does the work for you atmospherically before anyone even walks through the door.

I'm George. I've been a professional DJ for over 25 years, starting out in clubs, digging through crates and falling in love with music the old school way. I built my career playing residencies in the UK and abroad and have spent years performing at weddings across Hertfordshire and London. I'm an open format DJ which means I can take a room anywhere, from Reggae to House, Disco to Hip Hop, Pop to Chill-out, reading exactly where the crowd wants to go next. No sync buttons, no pre-planned sets. I mix live, by ear, the way it should be done.

Before your day we'll talk properly. Not a quick email exchange, a real conversation. Your music, your guests, the songs that mean something to you both. I take all of that seriously because it shapes everything I do on the night.

When I set up in your venue, the transformation is immediate. QSC speakers delivering crystal clear sound, Pioneer decks and mixer playing lossless audio so every track sounds exactly as it should. A large white DJ booth flanked by illuminated plinths and speaker stands, all wrapped in white silk scrims with uplights glowing inside. Moving heads on the plinths and overhead rig, with the American DJ Starburst scattering colour and light across the whole room. Before I've played a single track, your guests will know they're in for a good night.

Everything PAT tested and fully insured to £1 million PLI.

I always arrive early and dress smartly for every event.

FAQs

Q: Can you bring a Magic Mirror photo booth to The White Hart Hotel St Albans?

A: Yes, space permitting. My package includes a full backdrop, props table, red carpet, personalised prints and a guest book. Just mention it when we speak and we'll confirm it fits the layout comfortably.

Q: It's quite an intimate venue. Will your setup suit a smaller space?

A: Perfectly. I always scale the setup to the room. A historic venue like this actually benefits enormously from the right lighting and sound, it transforms the space without overpowering it.

Q: We only have around 60 to 80 guests. Is that the kind of evening you enjoy playing for?

A: Some of the best nights I've ever played have been for smaller crowds. Everyone knows each other, the energy builds fast and when a great track drops in a room full of people who are all feeling it at the same time, nothing beats it.

Q: How do you handle the music for different generations in the room?

A: That's where being an open format DJ really matters. Over 25 years I've built a library spanning every decade and genre imaginable. Blending them so everyone ends up on the floor at the same time is one of my favourite parts of the job.
